Over the course of their first year they drew other like-minded people together and called their gang The JOKERS due to their morbid sense of humor during even the attacks from the Beltline.
During the next three years they crossed paths with other gangs, earning their respect. When they finally crossed paths with Ginji Amino, Bobby managed to withstand one of Ginji's attacks after fighting with him. Giniji, being impressed, offered him a place as one of his four Kings of the VOLTS gang. He refused to be a subordinate so Ginji asked him to be by his side and Bobby agreed. VOLTS and the JOKERS were a formidable gang. People feared and turned to them while they tried to settle the chaos, protect and help improve life in Lower Town.
